Natural Heartworm Prevention for Dogs
1/8 tsp wormwood/artemisia tincture per 30 pounds of body weight.
Wormwood is safe for your pet, but toxic to parasitic nematodes (roundworms) and kills them.
As the taste is bitter, try adding to your pet’s food or with a treat. You may also put the tincture in a gel capsule if your pet is good about taking pills.
Precautions:
Wormwood is awesome, but contains absinthe NOT SAFE IN LARGE DOSES if kidney or liver issues with your pet.
Do not treat for more than three days in a row.
Refrain from using with pregnant or nursing pets.
Heartworm prevention with coconut, this will repel and expel parasites as well!
1 tsp of coconut oil (or 1oz. of coconut milk per 10 pounds of body weight) can be added to your pet’s food.
